Kyle Larson's dreams of completing 'The Double' were dashed as he crashed out of the Indy 500, torpedoing his chances before heading to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600. The calamity unfolded from a restart on lap 92 as Larson attempted to make moves on the inside line but misjudged the apron and his car was rocketed into the outside wall.

Kyle Larson saw his start in the 109th Indianapolis 500 come to an early end after he lost control of his No. 17 Arrow McLaren car in Turn 2 on Lap 92 of the race. Larson would crash, and would take Kyffin Simpson and Sting Ray Robb with him.
