Guardians center fielder Lane Thomas, who hasn't played since April 19 due to an injured right wrist, was activated and will start in Thursday's game vs. the Tigers.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians activated outfielder Lane Thomas from the injured list ahead of Thursday’s scheduled series opener against the Tigers in Detroit. In a related move, outfielder Will Brennan will be sidelined at least 10 days with left forearm inflammation, the club said.

The Cleveland Guardians could be getting a prime reinforcement back on the field pretty soon. Lane Thomas is inching closer to his return. According to a report by Tim Stebbins of MLB.com, Manager Stephen Vogt claimed that the star outfielder will begin a rehab assignment this week with Triple-A Columbus.
