Members of the crew of the Mexican ship that collided with the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday evening were seen disembarking the damaged vessel on Sunday in New York. The 300-foot (90-meter) Cuauhtemoc crashed into the Brooklyn Bridge when it was maneuvering in turbulent waters.

US safety officials launched a probe Sunday after a 150-foot tall Mexican sailing ship crashed into New York's iconic Brooklyn Bridge, snapping its masts and killing two crew members. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said on social media that it was "launching a go-team" to conduct an initial probe of the crash.

The Mexican navy said in a post on the social platform X that the Cuauhtemoc, an academy training vessel, was damaged in an accident with the Brooklyn Bridge that prevented it from continuing its voyage. It added that the status of personnel and material was under review by naval and local authorities, which were providing assistance.
