Now that Fortnite is back on iOS with Apple's approval of the game, Microsoft is jumping in to try to extend its ability to sell games on the platform through its Xbox app.Microsoft on Tuesday filed an amicus brief in district court in support of Fortnite publisher Epic Games saying that Apple has "stymied" its efforts to sell games through its mobile Xbox app on iOS.

Microsoft pinpoints Apple and its old App Store policies as the main culprits that prevented the launch of a mobile-centric Xbox game and app store.

Just over one year ago, Xbox president Sarah Bond confirmed that Microsoft would launch its Xbox mobile store in July 2024. But as of May 2025, no such store has been launched. The delay is due to Apple, according to a recent Microsoft filing.

Microsoft’s Ninja Theory studio is bringing Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II to the PS5 “this summer.” Set in a dark ninth-century Iceland, Hellblade II originally debuted on Xbox Series S / X and PC last year, and it’s now making its way to Sony’s console just over a year later.

The visually dazzling fantasy thriller will arrive on Sony’s platform this summer with new features and an enhanced version for PS5 Pro.

There aren't too many modern Xbox console-exclusive titles out there these days. Another one is about to go multiplatform with developer Ninja Theory announcing on Wednesday that Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 would be coming to the PlayStation 5 later this year.
