Bing is the default search provider with Internet Explorer 8. If you use another search engine in your business, such as Google, you can turn off Bing Search and use another provider of your choice.

However, among the top items listed as user requests for the new tab page is the ability to hide the Bing search bar, turn off the Microsoft-powered news feed, and change the search provider.

Fortunately, you can turn it off. You can either turn off Bing search completely, or simply tweak settings like whether to give personalized results using your location or turning off safe search.
