Purdy’s deal is a record for the 49ers: for context, in 2018 the side handed their then-quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, a five-year, $137.5 million deal. Now, the last pick in the 2022 draft – No. 262 overall, a pick which saw him dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” - is certainly doing well to get rid of his nickname.
