British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has ramped up his criticism of Israel and repeated his call for a ceasefire in Gaza

According to the report, the Israeli’s ambassador to the U.K., Tzipi Hotovely, was summoned to the Foreign Office where the Middle East minister Hamish Falconer planned to call the 11-week blockade of aid to Gaza “cruel and indefensible.”

The war, now in its 20th month, has left Gaza in ruins and its population facing a worsening hunger crisis. It has strained Israel’s relations with much of the world and those with its closest ally, the United States, now appear to be wavering.

The first few aid trucks entered Gaza on Monday following nearly three months of Israel’s blockade of food, medicine and other supplies, Israel and the United Nations said, as Israel acknowledged growing pressure from allies including the United States.
