Sophie Cunningham made the transition to the Indiana Fever ahead of the 2025 WNBA season. After playing with the Phoenix Mercury since 2019, Cunningham joined the most thrilling team in the WNBA, led by Caitlin Clark. While Cunningham will likely be a major piece to the Fever's success, she was ruled out for Indiana's first game of the season.

It all started with a right ankle sprain Sophie Cunningham suffered in Indiana’s final preseason game against the Atlanta Dream on May 10. She sat out of the first game, but was a ‘live-wire’ on the sidelines.
