Burch, a freshman pitcher at Northern Essex Community College (NECC) in Massachusetts, closed out the final innings in two victories over Suffolk County Community College over the weekend in the District Playoffs.

With the Yankees and Mets considered championship contenders in the season’s early going, a repeat of 2000 is within the realm of possibility.
