The construction of reef modules for the formation of 4 new artificial reefs for the greater Darwin Area is ramping up. The reefs are designed to increase long term fisheries production, enhance the sustainability of key fishery resources and improve recreational fishing opportunities. Each concrete module weighs 23 tonnes is 5 metres tall and 4 metres square at the base. They are specifically designed combining the best features of a natural reef but enhancing their qualities for maximum effect
