Why I love working in paediatrics! 1. variation 2. pathology On the pathology- Polypharmacy and co morbidities can sometimes mask or alter the way a patient presents. Another example is beta blockers slowing the heart rate down in a patient who would otherwise be tachycardic. I prefer paeds where the pathology is normally a bit more overt/ less likely to be masked by drugs or other conditions. Obviously there are plenty of exceptions either way and this is just my anecdotal experience/opinion. w
