This morning the Aquarium released a rehabilitated sea turtle! 🌊🐢 This 160-pound female green sea turtle (nicknamed Aristurtle) came to the Aquarium in August after being rescued in the San Gabriel River. She was weak and dehydrated, and x-rays showed a fishing hook lodged in her esophagus. The Aquarium’s vet team removed the hook and attached fishing line, which can prove fatal to sea turtles if left untreated. After about a month of recovery, she was ready to head back to the ocean!
