The red areas on this satellite loops (which spans through 6:11pm yesterday to 6:46am PDT this morning) represent heat detected by satellite from some of the several ongoing wildfires in the western US and Canada. Wildfire smoke is causing unhealthy air quality today in parts of the Pacific Northwest and central Plains. Check weather.gov for the latest in your area. | U.S. National Weather Service (NWS)
